Arix for Windows BetaWindows 11

Welcome to the beta. Let's get you set up.

Arix for Windows is a private AI assistant for your office, on the PC you already have. It installs for your own Windows account, with no IT and no administrator needed, and sets itself up in a few minutes.

  1. Download

It lands in your Downloads folder.

Windows · Coming soonNot out yet. This guide is ready for when it is.
  2. Open it, and meet Windows' careful side

Double-click the downloaded file. Windows hasn't met Arix many times yet, so it may stop and show a blue box. Nothing is wrong. Here's what you'll see:

Click More info, the small link under the text.

Click Run anyway. “Unknown publisher” only means Windows hasn't checked Arix yet, not that it found anything.

Don't click Don't run. If you did, no harm done: double-click the downloaded file again.

That's all it takes. You don't need to change any Windows setting or install anything else, and we'll never ask you to install a certificate or turn off Windows protection.

  3. Let Arix set itself up

Arix installs for your own Windows account, then sets up the AI that fits your PC. If it offers to install something it needs, say yes. If this PC will run your office's Arix, Windows asks once to let it through the firewall on private networks: click Allow.

  4. Use it free, or add a license

    • Free on this PC, for good. No key, no license, no account: Arix is ready to use.
    • Want the whole office on it? Start the 14-day Team trial from inside Arix.
    • Have a Personal, Team or Site key? Open Settings › License, paste it under License key, and click Add license. One license covers your Macs and PCs.
ARIX-1.eyJpZCI6… (a license starts like this)

That's it. Say hello. It's been waiting.

Other odd things you might see

Windows asks to let Arix through its firewall
Only on the PC that runs the office's Arix, so the other computers can reach it. Allow it for private networks. Windows asks once.
The first answer is slow
When the AI runs on the PC itself, it loads into memory for the first reply, which can take up to a minute. After that it's much quicker.
My PC feels too slow for it
Arix suggests the other ways: a cloud key from your own account, or joining your office's Arix on another Mac or PC.
