The short version
- Arix for Mac keeps your chats, memory and files on your Mac. We never receive them.
- We don't sell data, show ads, or use trackers. The app has no analytics or crash reporting.
- Anything that does reach us is listed below: what it is, why, and how long we keep it.
Who we are
Arix One makes Arix for Mac, Arix for Windows and Arix One. This page covers all three products and this website. Questions or requests: support@arixone.com.
This website
- The license form sends our license server what you typed (your email, the plan, and your name, business, platform, number of people and note if you gave them), the page you were on, and the time. We read it and decide on it; the only email it can lead to is your license, sent to that address once we approve it. Your internet address is kept only as a one-way scrambled code for limiting how often the form can be used, never the address itself.
- A quick check that you're a person runs on the license form, provided by the network that protects our license server. It looks at your browser, not at what you type.
- The Arix One and security forms send us your email address, the product you picked and the page you were on. We save it in a private spreadsheet and get a copy by email, so we can reply. Your internet address is held briefly in memory to stop those forms being flooded, then forgotten.
- No cookies, analytics or trackers. The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard request logs for running and protecting the site.
Arix for Mac
What stays on your Mac
Your chats, memory, files, lists, the tools Arix builds, and your keys and passwords (in the Mac's Keychain). We never receive any of them.
What reaches us
- The daily license check. Once a day, a licensed Mac sends its license number, the app version, and an anonymous code for the Mac. The code is scrambled from the Mac's hardware ID and can't be turned back into it. We keep the license holder's name and email, the plan, which anonymous Macs use the license and when they last checked in, and a history of license changes. Licenses we issue by hand for offline offices never check in.
- Starting the free trial sends the anonymous Mac code, the name you enter, your email if you give one, and the app version.
- Bug reports are only sent when you click Send. You see everything first, and each part has its own checkbox. Recent chat messages are left out unless you tick them. Keys, passwords, email addresses and phone numbers are masked before anything leaves your Mac. We keep each report with your license number, the anonymous Mac code and the internet address it came from, in a private issue tracker.
- Backups. Arix saves an encrypted backup every night, to a folder you choose. We never receive it. So that you can restore it on a new Mac, our license server keeps a recovery key tied to your license. The key is useless without the backup file itself.
What goes elsewhere, only when you set it up
- Cloud AI models and web search: if an admin adds a key for a provider (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, DeepSeek, Perplexity or OpenRouter), the messages that use it go straight from your Mac to that provider, under your key and their privacy terms. They don't pass through us.
- GitHub and iMessage work directly from your Mac with your own accounts, never through us.
- Updates: Arix reads a public file on GitHub to see if there's a newer version. Nothing about you is sent; GitHub sees your internet address, as with any download.
Arix for Windows
- What stays on your PC: your chats, memory, files and lists, locked to your Windows account, and your keys and passwords, in Windows' Credential Manager. We never receive any of them.
- What reaches us is the same as for Arix for Mac above: the daily license check, starting the free trial, bug reports you send and the backup recovery key, with an anonymous code for the PC in place of the Mac's.
- A PC that joins your office computer (a Mac or a PC) uses the Arix there: your chats and memory are kept on that computer, inside your office, and never pass through us.
- A PC that runs your office keeps the chats and memory of everyone who joins it, Macs and PCs, on that PC. Setup asks Windows once to let Arix through its firewall, on private networks only, so your other computers can reach it. Nothing passes through us.
- Cloud AI models and web search work as on the Mac: straight from your PC to the provider, under your own key.
Arix One
- Your server: Arix One runs on a private server set up for you. Your accounts, schedules, activity and conversations are processed there. Memory and local models stay on your connected Mac.
- The audit log records sign-ins, changes, refusals and admin access, without message contents. It is kept for one year.
- Backups run every night: the last 7 days are kept on your server and the last 30 in your own Dropbox account.
- Services you connect receive what they need to work, under your accounts and their terms: AI model providers, Telegram, phone calls (Twilio), voice services, Google (Gmail, Docs, Sheets) and Dropbox.
- Our access: Arix One is a white-glove service. We set up your server with you and look after it: updates, upkeep and support. We only access it for that, or when you ask us to help.
Payments
When paid plans start, payments will be handled by Paddle, who act as the seller. They give us your name, email and business name so we can send your license. We never see your card details. License emails are sent through Resend.
How long we keep things
- License and payment records: as long as your license exists, and afterwards as the law requires.
- Requests from this website and bug reports: until you ask us to delete them, or we no longer need them.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you by writing to support@arixone.com. Data on your own Mac, PC or server is yours to keep or delete.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so on this page and, for customers, by email.
