How Arix fits together.

  • ACArix Cluster: the office computer(s) running Arix
  • ALArix Link: the agent on a desk or server
  • LMLocal models
  • A1Arix One, optional: your channels, and new ones built for you
  • Joined

  • ALAmber, dashed: coming

One office Mac, ten desks.

AC-1, the back office Mac, runs Arix for everyone, with local models (LM) beside it. Ten Macs and PCs join it with pairing words, and Arix Link (AL) on each Mac reports its health back.

  • If the Wi-Fi drops or the office computer restarts, everyone's desk reconnects by itself as soon as it's back, with no signing in again
  • AL reconnects by itself after a drop or a restart, even before anyone signs in
  • Each machine keeps its own key and sign-ins, encrypted, on that machine
  • Encrypted backup every night, to a folder you choose. Restore it on a new computer with your recovery key

How data moves

What stays where.

  1. AOn the office computerChats and memory, each person's own. The team, the roles and the license.
  2. BOn each AL machineIts own key, and any service sign-in, in that system's protected store: the Keychain on a Mac, encrypted credentials on Linux. They never travel.
  3. CTo a cloud modelOnly the questions that use it, and only if you add your own key.
  4. DThrough usNever your chats, your memory or what AL reads. With Arix One they live on your own private server. The privacy page lists the little that does reach us, like the license check.

Why it holds together

  • Pairing words, then an admin approves
  • Pinned keys on every connection
  • Signed updates
  • Secrets in each system's own protected store
  • Read only by default
  • Admins only, until an admin adds someone

Coming

  • An Arix Cluster (AC) of several office computers, with failover
  • An LM stack of Macs
  • AL for Windows PCs and servers
  • Reading services through AL
  • Watch: a notice when something changes
