When Arix asks before it acts

Before Arix does something that changes things, like running a command or sending a text, it shows you a card with exactly what it wants to do. Nothing happens until you say yes.

The card

For a command, the card says Run this command? and shows the command. The buttons:

  • Allow once: this time only.
  • Always allow followed by the command: this command from now on, without asking.
  • Allow all in this chat: anything in this chat, without asking.
  • Don't allow: nothing runs.

Other things Arix asks about

  • Sending a text: the card shows who it's to and the words. Send or Don't send.
  • Moving files to the Trash: Keep it or Move to Trash (the Recycle Bin on a PC).
  • A file outside the folders Arix may use: a card asks for access. An admin can allow it there; a member asks an admin.
  • Browsing websites for you: before a button that buys, pays, sends or signs up, it asks “Click …?”, and before it types on a site, “Let Arix type on…?”.

If Arix isn't in front, a notification tells you it's waiting for your yes. You can turn that off in Settings › Notifications.

Running code is off until an admin turns it on

  1. On the office computer, an admin opens Services and turns on Run code and commands.
  2. For members, the admin also ticks Run code on their row in Team.

Until then, Arix says it can't run code and tells you who can turn it on. On Windows, Arix doesn't run code yet: it says no rather than run it unprotected.
