Arix won't open the first time
Arix is new, so the first time you open it your Mac or PC is careful and stops it. Nothing is wrong. You say yes once, and it never asks again.
On a Mac
You double-click Arix for Mac and see:
“Arix for Mac” Not Opened… could not verify “Arix for Mac” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.Done · Move to Trash
It means your Mac hasn't checked Arix yet, not that it found anything.
- Click Done. (If you clicked Move to Trash, no harm done: drag Arix for Mac from the downloaded file into Applications again.)
- Open System Settings › Privacy & Security and scroll all the way down to Security.
- Next to “Arix for Mac” was blocked to protect your Mac, click Open Anyway.
- Type your Mac's password, the one you sign in to this Mac with. Not an administrator on this Mac? Ask someone who is to type theirs.
- If your Mac asks once more, click Open Anyway again.
On Windows
You open the downloaded installer and a blue box appears:
Windows protected your PC… prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.More info · Don't run
- Click More info, the small link under the text. The box now shows the app's name and “Publisher: Unknown publisher”.
- Click Run anyway. (Clicked Don't run? Open the downloaded file again.)
“Unknown publisher” means Windows hasn't checked Arix yet, not that it found anything.
Still stuck
- No Open Anyway button? It appears only after you've tried to open Arix once. Double-click it in Applications, click Done, then look again.
- On a work computer, your company may block apps it hasn't approved. Ask whoever looks after your computers.
- Write to support@arixone.com with a screenshot of what you see.
Installing from the start? See Install Arix for Mac or Install Arix for Windows.
